GLRCE invites all its currently funded researchers to meet and share their Science in Hilton Head Island from November 6th, 2008 to November 8th, 2008.

Funding opportunities for Post Doctoral Fellows and Young Faculty Professors
Deadline for Receipt of Application: October 13, 2008.
The Great Lakes Regional Center of Excellence (GLRCE) for Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Diseases issues 2 Request for Applications on August 20, 2008. The Awards will start in March 2009 and are depending on the GLRCE renewal.

NIH Public Access Policy
The National Institutes of Health requires that all investigators funded by the NIH submit to the National Library of Medicine’s PubMed Central an electronic version of their final peer-reviewed manuscripts. The Nature Publishing Group, which produces the journal Nature and other publications, announced that it will offer a free service to deposit authors’ pieces in PubMed Central and its British equivalent to comply with new requirements and many scientists’ desire to have their work available free and online through open access archives.
