Biocontainment Laboatory Operation and Maintenance

The Great Lakes Regional Center of Excellence for Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Diseases (GLRCE), the University of Chicago in partnership with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Safety are jointly sponsoring a series of ten professional development courses in Biocontainment Laboratory Operations and Maintenance. These courses are part of the NBBTP Professional Certificate Program in Operations and Maintenance of biocontainment laboratories and are specifically designed to address training needs for operations and maintenance staff supporting containment laboratories (BSL3), including, but not limited to, Regional Biocontainment Laboratories (RBLs). Participants in these courses do not have to enroll in the certificate program. Those interested in the certificate program, which requires completion of an 80 hour practicum and final project, will be able to apply credits obtained in this week long course toward completion of the Certificate Program.
